Beautiful Turkey

I know, I'm starting to repeat myself, but Turkey was unbelievably beautiful and to me the most relaxing days in a long time. Here you go with some more pictures.

The Treehouses

It's the place you always look for, but you don't think you will ever find it. It's a paradise, located between high mountains, surrounded by forests and a short walk away from the beach. It's a group of small wooden bungalows, and it offers diving, kayaking, canyoning, trekking, rock climbing... everything. The people are between 20 and 30. And the atmosphere is chilled out. It's the place I always wanted to go to. And here it is. Ha! :-D

on the road again

It's 8:20 in the morning. In exactly 4 hours my plane will take off and 4 exciting weeks open up in front of me.

1) 5 days of vacations... finally. This is the first time since my exams that I get to take some time off. (although I hope that it really will be off and not having to worry about work too much. And when I look at all the things that are not done and that I have to finish in the next coupe of days no matter what... hm) Buy anyway, I'm sure it will be an awesome time. This is the plan: We spend one day in Istanbul, then we head down south to Anatalya, where we will stay at this place that is all just many different wooden bungalows and offers lots of activities like diving, trekking, paragliding, canoeing, etc. (Check it out) So we will basically make one week of chilling out and enjoying activites! It is exactly what I need.

2) International Congress 07 in Istanbul. It's the biggest and most important AIESEC conference in the year that brings together all the national committees of all countries we are present in. I have never attended it before, but I heard that it's one of the most amazing experiences you can make in AIESEC. It's nearly 2 weeks of learning, sharing my work experiences, networking, meeting new people and also reunion with lots of good friends that I made somewhere along my AIESEC path. It will be one of the most international things I have ever done. I'm looking forward like mad.

3) Back to Cairo for one day and off again, this time to Sharm el Sheik. There another conference will take place, although, that, for once, has nothing to do with AIESEC. It is organized by the World Bank and Suzzane Mubarak (yes, that's the first lady) and we from AIESEC have been invited to attend as representative of youth leadership, how cool is that??

After that, I will end my little adventure by chilling out in sharm el sheik for 2 more days, enjoying the fishes and corals, and then return to Cairo.

the moooveeeee

Finally I got to see what I have been wanting to see for weeks. The Simpsons, the movie. And it did live up to my expectations! You get a two hours of sharp intelligent humor and satire, it's the all-time-super-episode! It's the kind of movie I could watch 5-6 times, and I would surely keep on discovering small gags that I didn't notice before!
Go see it, it's worth it!

And Work?

I wonder when I will break my habit of procrastinating?? (judging by the fact that I'm updating my blog instead of working, not now...)
I have been working on my job for one month already. It's going good, I like it a lot. My team is really cool and I like every singe one in the team very much. It's the kind of team you can trust, there is no black sheep.
The work that I do is nice, it's challenging, and it's something else almost every day. It's new to me that there are so many things going on at the same time that I could not survive without "to do" lists that I revise at least 2 times a day. It's great really.
It's five weeks since I started. We ran a national planning meeting, which was a conference for the leadership bodies of all local entities of AIESEC Egypt (for @ers: EBs). We decided on lots of things that will be happening this year, we started coaching meetings, I personally have been working on recruitment and induction, met with all VPs of the LCs to gather their input, and from that created what will hopefully be this years recruitment... and what else?
I have been discovering Cairo and it's people :-)
But when, seriously, when and how will I stop procrastinating? I will be leaving for Turkey in a few days from now, and I discovered that there is a mad amount of things I still need to finish until then, and in all honesty, I would have had plenty of time doing them earlier. Hm. My fault.
It's really something that I expect from myself to learn during this year: to be more efficient and less easily distracted. And I post it here, so that everyone can see it. :-)
