Here just quickly some times and schedules, in case someone wants to bring me to the station/airport, pick me up, or be with me mentally... :)

and for those who like to plan far ahead... I'll be back in Switzerland on the 22nd of December for holidays! :D

shaping the anthem of my nomadlife

In the past 2 years I came across words, actions thoughts, songs, conversations, books that have impressed me. They seemed random pieces in the beginning. But after a while I have started to see that they were all linked and all circling around similar topics. Whenever I came across one of these pieces, I absorbed them with great pleasure. I wanted to learn from them and hope that they affect my actions. They do, sometimes.
Sometimes it turns out to be hard. And sometimes I forget about them. But my general feeling has started to change and it feels that the pieces I gathered might not be shaping me as directly and fast as I sometimes hope. But they do shape the anthem that drives me.

I would like to share some of these pieces on this blog in a series of posts. Not all, but some. And not in regular intervals, just when I feel like it.

I'll start with Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech in 2005

Switzerland Reloaded

I walk through the city of Bern. It's not that easy at the moment. It seems that the whole city center is one huge construction site. There is no parking space for you bike, walking past the station (if possible) takes about half an hour.
The whole station is sort of like one big hole where you can have a look of what all the piping system in this city looks like. Why is that? The European Championship 08 is going to be held here in Switzerland, so why not make a new city? :-D

The interesting thing is: the construction has just started a few weeks ago. The whole thing is going to be done in June 08, so right before I come back. So once I come back, I won't recognize the place anymore!

I will come back into a whole new Switzerland: There is the new station in Bern. But there is also the brand new tunnel NEAT, that will make my way from Bern to Wallis more then doubled as fast, there will be a new big train station in Visp, my hometown, there will be one more professor at our institute, so many more classes offered, there will (hopefully!!!) be a new administration system for our university! So many things! Switzerland reloaded!!

This is the Bernese train station 100 years ago

A few weeks ago

Right now...

... and in June 2008!

And if you want to know how the construcion is going, you can check out www.bahnhofplatz08.ch
A live cam uploads a new picture every minute! :-D

contradiction

Just a bit more than one month ago, I wrote how sad I am that I barely read any books anymore. You can read the short post here.

What's the next step I do? I get myself a facebook and studivz account.
I'm glad what I'm thinking and what I'm doing are not always that contradicting...
