Two Moments
Who ever has been in Bern for one week knows all the beggars we have in this city. There are not that many (it seems) and after some days you have seen them all.
The special thing: I guess there is no place on earth where the beggars are that polite! They give you a big smile, ask in a nice way and when you say "no, sorry" they nevertheless smile and wish you a nice day. And it doesn't even look fake. On some rainy day, when nothing seems to work out and you pass by one of those good-mooded beggars you really think yourself: nothing ever gets them down, does it?
The good moment last week: The whole Bernese "beggarship" gathered together in a busy street, with one guy playing the guitar and the others singing a song in several different tones. It sounded good. Honestly. One would think that beggars are not innovative. Apparently they can lead change.
I study Arabian. It's fun, I'm very motivated but I really don't know so much yet. Last week I stepped out of Migros and saw 2 dark man meeting. As I got closer I heard they were speaking Arabian. And as I walked past them, I actually understood what they were saying! OK, it was only "Hello, how are you? I'm fine, how are you? Fine". Nevertheless: Very good feeling.
Just wanted to point out.
:-)

see you soon
I know from experience how good the feeling is, I was in a similar situation when I began to learn Chinese! Keep on learning and soon you will almost completely understand those random conversations. :-)
