Lagerweg under attack

I came home to Bern yesterday, suspecting nothing bad as I entered the kitchen, and I could barely trust my eyes...
I opened the cupboard where we keep all the rice, pasta, cookies etc. and about 5 black things would shout in my face. They looked like flies, but the so weren't flies. I instantly knew, we have a problem. Those black things are the grown up version of what we know in German as Maden or in English Larvae. And there were not only 5 of them... as soon as I started moving things around, dozens of them would fly away. After some minutes I discovered that actually every centimeter of that cupboard is covered in little white worms, some of them not even being that little. I was in shock.
But the horror continued: I backed up a little I saw that actually the worms were coming out of the cupboard all over the places and the the whole thing also on the outside is covered with the bastards. As I realized that, I took a closer look at the room.... I now imagine: The walls and the ceiling are covered with them!!! The whole room is under attack. I almost through up. I can barely believe I didn't notice them right away.
What followed was a massive throwing-away-all-our-food action by Johanna (who, I guess you could say, was in a far greater shock than me) and me. For poor Johanna this was quite a blow, since she had a lot of very good food in there, some of it did not look cheap and some she had brought back from Sweden.
And that does not even solve our problem, because the worms are still all over the kitchen and everything is covered in eggs.
I guess we will have to get a professional to do the job. :-(
